Hey guys! It's me! Just wanted to give everybody a heads up about an artist on this site and tell you of my dealings with him. JOHN PINKERTON....aka PINKERTON FX. He has been disrespectful to me and seems to have pissed off some people on this site aside from me. I just wanted to put my experience out there as it has been on my mind and bugging me. I know it seems strange I was his friend on here! And I know, I was, which is one of the main reasons I am pissed off right now. John is an AMAZING dollmaker, absolutely one of the most talented people I've ever come across. However he has disappointed me beyond belief. I suggested his work to my boyfriend, just to check him out. And it ended up that my boyfriend ordered one of his dolls online in June of last year. The BEGINNING of June. He ordered it as a birthday present for me. My birthday is in August, and Pinkerton said that the doll would only take up to 8 weeks to make so we were pretty stoked about getting the doll. however, the weeks passed, my birthday passed, months passed after my birthday and STILL no doll. We had written John on countless occasions and finally when he got back to us he said he was having family problems and it was going to take a little longer. We were very patient and understanding and said that was no problem. He didnt respond to our emails for a long time after that, and so we got a bit worried. We went searching and found blogs saying how he scams people, and found that he had been giving the same excuses to the people on this blog as he has been telling us. That said, the issues on the blog have been sorted out, however my issues with him are still in progress. And that the way he gets payment for his dolls (via paypal) can be used as a way to disadvantage the customer. Because there is only a certain amount of time after the purchase you make to get your money back. He has made excuses until after that time, so now there is no way for us to get our money back without dealing with him directly. It ended up with a few months ago him FINALLY emailing my boyfriend back and saying he was going to, within the week, take a picture of the progress of the doll and send it off. This never happened. So we kept emailing him asking him when he is going to send it and if he cant then to just give us our money back, which we had been asking since the beginning. We are a young couple and need any money we have. And for him to take that 65 bucks from our pocket pisses me off. This is groceries for a week. This is disrespectful. We went out of our way to support him and his buisness and he fucked us over. He has now stopped emailing us completely, is ignoring both of us and deletes my comments off of his profile on dA. There have been people ON HERE, on dA that have written me and asked me if he has screwed me over TOO. This means that he has fucked other people over on dA. So I just wanted to vent and say that while he is a talented artist he is not a respectful man and he is definetly not a person I would want to do buisness with.

- My boyfriend and I said we want our money back or our doll
- John has told us that he will send us a cheque for our money back --> changed to him sending either the check this weekend or the doll on tuesday May 20th

June 20... asked john for tracking number, he said he cant find the doll he sent to michael, so he will send another one to me. I've asked him for the tracking number and given him my address to ship to. no news from him, and still...no doll.

June 27...still no response, so i sent more emails....and i am still waiting to hear back from him...

July 4...still waiting, sent more emails...still havent heard back from him at all...

September 29th...still waiting, again...sent more emails and havent gotten a single reply from John. I am considering going to the police now, as opposed to tackling the issue with him...i will let them do it. So John, c'mon man....smarten up.

October 9th...wrote him another email yesterday, told him that I am seriously considering taking legal action. he wrote me back the same day, after not hearing him for months, saying that he has sent the doll, and it must have gone missing (again)...he said he will send it again. he also said again, as seen below, that i am slandering his name, really, i am just presenting my personal experience with john. what i add to this journal is updates on my experience. someone sent me a message and asked me if i wanted to join cases with him if all this doesnt get sorted out. After john wrote on here I wrote him back clearing up that i am not slandering his name, and that I would like him to send out the doll within the next couple days, and i want a tracking number this time for proof tha the has sent it. I have asked for a tracking number every time and have never recieved one for the countless dolls that he says have gone missing. I am still waiting to hear back from him...

November 24th
I wrote John Pinkerton more emails because after his comments on here telling me to stop "slandering" his name he refused to acknowledge both my husbands and my own requests again. My husband told him to forget the doll, and send a refund check, he gave this man a mailing address and we asked, ONCE AGAIN, for a tracking number....this was early october. And we still havent heard back from him. And I got more messages from other people saying that they have had this same issue with him.


I apologise to all who might have taken this as a personal attack on John. He is a very talented man, who appears to be going through some hard times, and he probably does in fact need the support of his family, friends, and fans now more than ever. This journal I posted expresses only my personal experience with John. On my own time I found out more that lead me to believe certain things. I would love to be wrong about the conclusions I made...and from what John says, I am wrong. I was treated unfairly. If you are a fan of Johns and are looking to buy his works, by all means, that is a choice to be made on your own...recieving one of his gorgeously grotesque dolls must be a fantastic experience that I wish I had the opportunity to experience myself. I wish you all the best with your hardships John, I truly hope all goes in your favor and you get that big mess sorted out. I also wish you the best of luck with your future dollmaking. You are a very talented man and I never for one second lost admiration for that talent....
